The Irish Repertory Theatre celebrated its 2017 gala at the New York Town Hall in June. The evening, “Sondheim at Seven,” recognized the work of one of America’s greatest musical artists, Stephen Sondheim. Angela Lansbury introduced this one-night-only musical revue which included as many hit songs as could fit into 90 minutes. A galaxy of Broadway stars performed selections from: Sweeney Todd, Follies, Into The Woods, Passion, A Little Night Music, Company, Merrily We Roll Along, West Side Story and more. The evening, true to Sondheim’s shows, offered, “Something familiar, something peculiar, and something for everyone!”
