Out & About: New Golf & Heritage Tourism Initiative

Club Choice Ireland director Larry Byrne was in New York in November to promote tailor-made golfing vacations in Ireland’s east and southeastern counties.

Hailing from County Wexford, Byrne, who runs the company with his son Tiernan, is passionate about promoting golf in their part of Ireland.

“We have some of the country’s best courses including Portmarnock, the European Club and the K Club. Through Dublin International Airport and the surrounding road network, we now have unrivalled access into our region. We believe that the east and southeast are underrated as a golfing destination and we are determined to change that,” Byrne said.

In just three years, Club Choice has delivered thousands of golfers from the U.K. and over €5 million in tourism revenue to the east and southeast. The company is now looking forward to bringing its personalized, value-for-money product to the U.S., and has launched Heritage Choice Ireland, a new initiative, with a view to marrying golf and heritage vacations that would showcase Ireland’s Ancient East, the world’s best golf courses, and Irish hospitality. ♦
