Dublin theater director Michael Colgan and producer Alan Moloney have joined forces in an ambitious new project that aims to bring all 19 stage plays penned by Samuel Beckett to life on the large and small screen. Actors set to star in the ongoing productions include Julianne Moore, Kristin Scott Thomas, Jeremy Irons, and Michael Gambon, while directors of the caliber of Atom Egoyan, Anthony Minghella, and Neil Jordan will also participate. Eight of the 19 plays have already been filmed, and the rest are in various stages of production. Colgan reports that his desire is to introduce more people to the works of Beckett. The producers are examining the possibility of screening the films at Lincoln Center in New York City. ♦
